We let the girls out to free range for the first time yesterday. They were raised free range so we thought they’d appreciate being un-cooped and at first they stayed near the safety of their new home:
But it wasn’t long before Matlida led the charge to move further away:
They had a fine time chasing bugs and digging in the dirt.
Then they went back home and gave me two eggs!
The tub of wildflowers I planted this spring in the antique manure spreader have finally come into their full bloom for the season and they really look lovely:
The antique manure spreader is definitely a head-turner now and is still my favorite antique piece in the yard so far. I just love the chunky, rusty-ness of it:
